Our good stay. Altogether it was best value though.

Cleanliness is important. And it was clean. It was also quiet. That is really important. The proximity to Balboa Park was the reason we stayed there. It was great being able to walk to the park.
Though we weren't disturbed by it too much, we did not enjoy the cigarette smoke in the attrium/courtyard area.

I liked the convenience to town and the friendliness of the staff.
There was no mention that there wasn't any parking. The fee to park was over $15.00 per night at a convenient lot across the street. However, it was filled constantly during daytime hours. There should have been a clear reference to the fact that there was no parking. Also, there is no mention about the Airplanes that fly just 300 ft above the hotel all day and night long. The coffee pot had a used dried-up coffee filter in the water resevoir. I spent 30 minutes digging out all the grounds and filters.

It is the top you can get for that price-quality ratio. No bad surprises, no deposit asked. Great breakfast.

The management was fair after we complained about the room and cancelled our second night with a full refund.
We were very disappointed with the room. The room and its interior were very old and the room was tiny. The bathroom was equipped with a kitchen sink(!) and did not contain the promised hairdryer. The kitchenette consisted of an old and dirty fridge and a microwave. The sample pictures on Booked.net did not match the room at all. We would not have booked this room had we known how it would look like. The room was not worth its price. It seems that the Hotel has remodeled and old rooms. Unfortunately we had an old room.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the continental breakfast service.
At this particular location, it was a bit noisy with the airplane jets flying overhead -- but if you're used to ambient city noises, it's not that big a deal.

Staff were nice.
There were lots of fleas in my room. Disgusting! The San Diego Inn was so close to airport -- I could hear every plane take off and land. Plus, the walls were paper thin -- I could hear all my neighbors through the walls. Worst of all were the fleas. So many that they woke me up at 3 am. It was too late to change rooms, check out, or ask for refund. So i was stuck in a flea-infested hotel room. I will never stay at Americas Best Value Inn ever again. I will spend my whole life warning people never to stay at your hotel.

It was a $2.00 or less bus ride to the middle of downtown SD. It was within walking distance too.
My first room was small and not woth the price of $77. Without saying anything the front desk clerk called to ask if the room was ok. I said it was adequate. He offered to change it and I got an upgraded room that was very nice!

The breakfast is ok and the position is pretty confortable to reach the city by foot.
I think the price that we paid was too expencive for what we had.. around a 1000$ for 4 nights in a very humid and small room! The airport was too close and we could hear every 5 mins an airplane landing.. The room was so humid that we had to turn the airconditioned every night and I got cold and fever! The room has only one window in front of a wall..

The hotel was well priced in proximity to our destination. Nice, modern decor. Thank you for the coffee pot. Nice flat screen tv.
The hotel bed was lumpy. The staff misdirected me to a meter parking and said the area was free. I got a ticket.
